Bidders given more time to realise green projects – BNA

Mar 26, 2020 | Montel

(Montel) Germany’s BNA network regulator will not publish any individual renewable tender results for the time being providing more time for projects to be realised, due to the “exceptional situation” amid the coronavirus outbreak, it said on Monday.

“Both companies that have already been awarded a contract and potential new bidders are affected. Supply chains have been interrupted and the realisation of many projects is in question,” the Bonn-based authority said in the wake of the pandemic, which has led to severe restrictions on movement and business closures.

While the tenders would still be held according to the legally binding calendar, successful bidders would only be notified by regular mail and not through online publications until further notice.

Longer deadlines
“As a result, the deadlines do not start to run,” the BNA said.

Under normal circumstances, as soon as the results are published online, successful bidders have certain timeframes to provide financial guarantees or execute the projects.

The BNA would, however, continue to publish the total amount of the submitted bids as well as the highest and the lowest price, it added.

The latest solar and onshore wind tenders (300 MW each) ended on 1 March but the BNA has not yet published the results.
